| Message | :Well, the truck sucks. I bought a 2004 3.0 V6 Ford Ranger, and it gets a measley 16 mpg for the most atrociously underpowered experience of your entire life! This will probably be my last domestic vehicle purchase until U.S. auto manufacturers step up to the plate, because so far everything I've seen and heard about are really underpowered, inefficient and low resale vehicles :So now I am at a crossroad. The NA is down due to something like ethanol asphyxiation, and it's only a matter of time before the TT decides to take one of its' inevitable nosedives downward. Both cars are around 110,000 miles, so I no longer judge them as reliable, and cannot rely on them as a backup DD. Oh yeah, did I mention my DD sucks? So I'm ready to try something new.
:To give this some basis, I am looking into the possibility of getting a BMW under $10K. I would prefer something of 50-70K miles and maybe 1990-1997 for the year. So I guess my question is: Does anyone have either 1) Reliable information by personal experience to offer or 2) Know of a very reputable BMW forum that would cater to the professionalism held here?
:I've been looking into the 3 series, and although they can still be pricey, I've always been told that BMW's are quite reliable (very important).
:On another note, during my digging so far I came across a car I never heard of. Apparently it was made and marketed for about 10 years, starting when the Z came out (1989). It was called the 850, and boasted a V-12 engine (!). From what I've read the sticker was around $100,000 big ones when they were new, although I have noticed that higher mileage ones can be in the ballpark of many TTZ's when they can be found on ebay and such.
 :
:*Ahem* not to get off subject, obviously the V-12 is not the practical DD, but it was interesting nonetheless to discover this car which hides in the shadows. Kinda unique look in comparison with the generic BMW look.
